The Financial Services Roundtable, Housing Policy Council, and HOPE NOW are surveying their membership and non-profit partners dealing with military servicemembers to identify partnerships between the financial services and non-profits that address the distinctive needs of our transitioning troops.
The resulting white paper will highlight ongoing initiatives and best practices amongst financial services companies, non-profit partners, quasi-governmental organizations and government programs to promote collaboration that:
Turn vacant, distressed properties into suitable homes for military families.
Help servicemembers overcome the unique financial challenges of being responsible homeowners.
This paper will:
Provide an overview of the programs that turn REO properties into homes, and prepare veterans for homeownership.
Review the various challenges that act as barriers.
Highlight a suggested framework of successful programs that offer insight into what works best.
The white paper will serve as a suggested framework and starting point for ongoing discussions around housing opportunities for servicemembers and veterans. The Financial Services Roundtable, Housing Policy Council, and HOPE NOW will aggressively pursue ways to engage all partners in expanding efforts to meet the unique needs of our military and veteran populations.minimize
